A loyal partner of the ONDIF for some years now, Simone Lamsma is without doubt one of the most talented violinists of her generation.
The charisma of her performance of Sibelius’s Concerto in D minor dazzled the audience at the Philharmonie de Paris in 2020. Captured right after in the studio, here it is restored in all its boldness and singular sensitivity.

“[Simone Lamsma] delivers a solidly shaped interpretation that embraces the ecstatic lightness of the dance, but also expresses the depth of the music. […] Simone Lamsma knows how to adequately illuminate this work. Her always clean and clear playing helps her to do so.”
“Du feu et de la glace dans cette interprétation très engagée […] beaucoup de tempérament dans ce violon qui sait se montrer tranchant, assuré et résolu”
“The idea to record Sibelius came through a beautiful concert tour we did together […] We actually made this recording during COVID, and it will always remind me of the importance of human and musical connection and the immense joy and gratitude we felt to be making music together through those challenging times. I love this concerto immensely, and hope this love comes across and if listening to this recording might give people even a fraction of what it has given me, this would be make me very happy and hopeful.”

“D’une pureté aussi intense que prenante, la vision de l’artiste néerlandaise peut il est vrai compter sur la complicité avec un chef auquel la musique du Finlandais réussit tout particulièrement.”
