As it celebrates its 40th anniversary, the Orchestre des Pays de Savoie looks across the Alps, paying tribute to the composer most closely linked to its history: Mozart. The programme focuses on three cities that marked the composer’s life: Salzburg, his birthplace surrounded by mountains and the birthplace of the gallant and joyous Symphony No. 33; Vienna, his city of residence and the symbol of his artistic freedom, with the impetuous Symphony No. 35; and Linz, the setting for his prodigious creative force when, during a stay of just six days, Mozart wrote the sublime Symphony No. 36.
