Baptiste Gibier

Baptiste began studying the oboe in 1988 in Alain Protin’s class at the ENM in Aulnay-sous-Bois, where he was awarded a First Prize with distinction in 1996. He then entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, graduating in 1999 with a First Prize with High Distinction in the class of David Walter.

He received the Fondation de France Grand Prize in 2001 and served as principal oboe of the Orchestre des Lauréats du Conservatoire from 2002 to 2005. He performs regularly with some of France’s most prestigious orchestras (Paris National Opera, Orchestre National de France, Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse, etc.) as well as with leading international ensembles (Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra, Shanghai National Orchestra, Hungarian National Orchestra, etc.). He is also a member of several renowned ensembles, including Carpediem, Arsnova, and ArteCombo.

In June 2009, Baptiste was appointed Principal Oboe of the Orchestre National de Lille. Alongside his chamber music and symphonic career, he is also a professor at the Lille School of Music and Dance (École Supérieure de Musique et de Danse de Lille).
