Laurianne Corneille

Laurianne Corneille is an artist of remarkable elegance, described by Frédéric Casadesus as a ‘pianist of astounding elegance’. She inherited the Russian teaching of her master Evgeny Moguilevsky, whom she met at the Royal Conservatoire in Brussels, where she obtained a Master’s degree in interpretation and an Agrégation in teaching.
Since her time in Brussels, she has demonstrated her eclectic approach by improvising in the Music Village with jazz musicians as well as playing on period instruments. She was a pupil of the pianofortist Claire Chevallier.
She has gone on to play on rare historical instruments, including the famous Pleyel double piano with Cyril Huvé. She continues to work with contemporary composers such as Philippe Boesmans, Claude Ledoux, Jean-Luc Fafchamps, Karol Beffa, Isabelle Aboulker and Lise Borel.

She has performed on prestigious stages with renowned partners, including Philippe Jaroussky, Dana Ciocarlie, Tristan Pfaff, Gabriel Pidoux, Odile Heimburger, Marielou Jacquard and Fiona McGown. She has performed at some of the most prestigious venues in Belgium, including Flagey, the Musiq3 Festival, Bozar and the MIM. She has also performed in France at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, the Salle Cortot, the Institut du Monde Arabe, the Abbaye de Maubuisson and the Festival 10. She has performed at the Musicales de Normandie, the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, the Musicales de la Route Cézanne, the Rencontres Musicales de Coppet and the Salon Christophori in Berlin.
She is a leading figure in promoting the repertoire of women composers and has been one of the most committed performers at the ‘Un temps pour Elles’ Festival since its inception. Her solo album ‘L’Hermaphrodite’, devoted to Schumann and combining literature and the art of Kintsugi, was a huge success in 2020.
She is a highly sought-after chamber musician who has made other recordings, including an album entitled ‘À la Nuit’, dedicated to Schubert and Schumann in a trio formation (with clarinet and soprano), released in November 2022 on the Indésens/Calliope label. She also built up her own personal universe on solo piano and created the Trio Corneille in 2022. In addition, she looks after duos with the soprano Odile Heimburger and the Iranian soprano Anousha Nazari, as well as with Leonore Queffélec for a musico-literary fantasy.
She is also developing her own singular language through films directed by Raphaël Wertheimer, with whom she will create a musical and cinematographic narrative.
She is a very active teacher, teaching at the Académie Jaroussky at the Seine Musicale and at the Conservatoire de Vanves, and has written for various webzines. She is currently writing shows for her favourite partners. Writing is an extension of her multifaceted personality.
